The Scutoid Rug by Rottet Collection for Kyle Bunting was inspired by the scientific discovery that epithelial cells naturally adopt very complex and beautiful, yet stable geometric shapes known as "scutoids", which consist of sheets of similar tissue bound closely together to form larger organic beings. Irregular geometric shapes are cut from natural hide and intricately assembled by hand to give the Scutoid Rug a life of its own.
